Owner's description

Loaves by Madame Baker  is an artisan eatery. They use only the freshest products, source them ethically and locally, and prepare it in a "no-nonsense" fashion; enjoying the simplicity of good food. All their breads are baked on the premises with stone ground flour, proved over time to develop flavor and baked directly on the stone. They also cure their own meat and make all preserves on site. Loaves on Long aims to produce good food at an affordable price, in this way, sharing their immense passion with the community. Try the slow roasted pork belly sandwich with caramelized onion, apple and cos lettuce on freshly baked ciabatta or fried egg on puff pastry with home-cured bacon and balsamic tomatoes. Another signature dish is the pear, macadamia nuts and honey dish, served on 100% rye bread.

Ou new local breakfast spot in Cape Town. Honest to goodness - the best croissants in Cape Town.
As a person who is wheat intolerant and yes it is a thing .The awesome ladies at loaves on long have gone out of there way to be accomodating and made my experience amazing thank you ciska you rock and your food was amazing
Super friendly service, great atmosphere, delicious food, fantastic new menu in time for Summer. Mouth watering sweets and treats. You can't help coming back for more.
This small, humble contribution to the already crowded Cape Town restaurant scene is deceptively good and in a category of it's own. Different in the sense that it is not a bakery, not a coffee-shop, not a restaurant. However, it is all of the aforementioned and gives passing Capetonians exactly what they need; a great cup of coffee, take-away homemade soup& bread on a cold day, midday snacks and sweet things that are really good. Quite outstanding is the breakfast special (R20) consisting of a home-made bun, thinly sliced ham and a perfectly fried egg. What makes this humble dish a delight is the addition of aioli to the bun; it introduces an unique flavour and changes a simple bacon-egg-sarmiie into something that is memorable. Their sour dough bread is excellent, as is the ciabatta, as is their hot chocolate which is truly the absolute best in the Mother City. I am not saying this frivolously. If you like your hot chocolate thick and dark, give it a try.
What a lovely place to visit - relaxed owner's personal attention to your every need - delicious food and awesome coffee! Just a pleasure to go there. Try it - you won't regret it!!
