Fabulous all round - great tasting food, excellent service, great views.
The location of the restaurant makes for wonderful views over the vineyards, the sun set behind Table Mountain and Cape Town's city lights. The restaurant is elegantly decorated, yet with clear individualistic quirks and style.
The dinner itself was lovely. Our waiter was very friendly - and it was a great touch that the chef himself came by after dinner to ensure we had a good meal. The food was a bit expensive, but good portion sizes and amazing quality made us pay the bill with a smile.
I would definitely recommend Johan's at Longridge for a special night out!
Good service, good wines, very, very good food from Chef Bruce, especially the Norwegian salmon, done to perfection, and the starter of three different tempura seafood. Regularly serviced bathrooms. To be recommended!
We knew Longridge Wines but not the restaurant situated between Somerset West and Stellenbosch, called Johan's, on the estate, so were not sure what to expect. A scenic location with views as promised of Table Mountain, and a contemporary venue, surrounded by beautiful, well tended and nurtured vegetable gardens, the work of Chris Olivier, at this Dutch owned estate, where we were warmly greeted by charming informed staff augered well. The lovely indoor and outdoor dining areas, uniquely beautiful locally produced crockery, and artful design, intrigued and pleased us. With a menu from Dutch chef Marissa Chandansing and her team from an open kitchen, the excellent Longridge wines, with a further choice of other labels, this has to be one of the most delightful relative newcomers to the area. We will be back.
Wonderful. Great food, incredible vegetable gardens. Amazing service. Superb views. Gem to be discovered.
