Be careful when ordering for a vegan/vegetarians, it is a rip off! My family celebrated my birthday at Baia on 12 Dec 2025, and our waiter was Grant. My father is a vegetarian, and the options for him are incredibly limited, only around 2 or 3 on the menu. So he ordered a risotto for his main course. When it came, it was about the size of a cereal bowl, but he enjoyed it nonetheless. However, when the bill arrived, the risotto was labeled as “Seafood risotto” and cost over R400! (Keep in mind, my dad just got a vegetarian version of it, so just rice and sauce/cream). When we asked Grant, he said “He just works there and it’s not his fault” but gave a poor excuse that it’s essentially a seafood risotto just with no seafood!? This was NOT made clear to us when my dad placed the order, and is a blatant rip off and ruined an otherwise very lovely dinner.
