The Wacky Wine Weekend, the Robertson valleys popular annual wine festival, will take place from the 6- 8th of June 2008. This year marks the fifth anniversary of the festival. With over 40 participating wineries displaying their wares as well as a variety of other key attractions, visitors can expect even more festivity and celebration this year.

Established activities such as the half marathon, mountain bike challenge, boat trips, tractor trips, sunset game drives, live music and meet-the-winemaker-tastings will be supplemented by a number of new and exciting events.

The Ferrari Club will be parading their fleet, and the Zip-Zap Circus will be doing aerobic preformances. Old- fashioned side-car rides and a kaleidoscopic display of fireworks are also to be enjoyed.

Gourmet treats will be on offer with a wide variety of choices, from traditional boerewors, riverside picnics, Italian Cusine, potjiekos and sushi on offer.

A wide variety of childrens activities will also be available to keep the little ones occupied. Amongst other things they can enjoy feeding farm animals, face-painting, pony rides and kettle target shooting.

The Taste Responsibility campaign will be fully operational, as will the popular Buddy Bus enabling visitors to rent a taxi for the day for a minimum of 10 people. A shuttle service will also be operational.

Cost: A R40 passport must be purchased at ones first port of call (any of the participating wineries). The passport includes a tasting glass, goodie bag and some great surprises as well as an events programme. All other activities during the weekend will be pay-as-you-go.
