British Airways to serve gourmet burgers in their first-class cabins

British Airways has announced that it will be serving gourmet burgers in their first-class cabins from July 2014. To celebrate the launch of the British Airways Flying Burger, the airline has also compiled a list of the world’s top ten burger joints, with Cape Town’s Gourmet Boerie making that list.

While Eat Out is pretty sure that boerie rolls don’t quite qualify as burgers, we wouldn’t advise Gourmet Boerie to turn down the accolade. British Airways recommends their deluxe Gorgonzola worsrol, which is served with creamy Gorgonzola sauce, poached pear, caramelised pecan nuts and rocket, selling at R65.90.

British Airways menu design manager Mark Tazzioli and his team developed the Flying Burger, which features a 100% British beef patty with Monterey Jack cheese, gherkins and tomato relish on a brioche bun.
