Chef Nathan Clarke from The Test Kitchen Fledgelings was named the winner of the Eat Out Rising Star award at this year’s Eat Out Woolworths Restaurant Awards. 

The award, won in previous years by Anwar Abdullatief and Mmabatho Molefe, recognises young, up-and-coming talent in the restaurant industry who demonstrate a future-forward approach to their craft. Recipients of this honour are known for their innovation, barrier-breaking spirit and exploration of new ways of working with food and serving customers. 

Nathan has proven himself to be exactly this type of chef. His quiet determination, commitment and dedication have distinguished him as an inspiring leader who has carved his own distinctive path in the culinary world. His journey serves as a powerful reminder of how passion can culminate in extraordinary achievement. 

“I’ve put in the work, drive and passion and I think that’s shown a lot and maybe that’s how I got recognised,” says Nathan. “It’s been an exciting journey.”
