Ideas with mirin

Mirin is a Japanese rice wine, which is low in alcohol and is gives sushi rice its sweet and sharp flavour.
– Add a dash to thinly diced cabbage and apple, then add soya sauce, chopped ginger, garlic, chilli and lemon juice.
– You can make a dipping sauce with a little mirin mixed with fish sauce and minced spring onion, and serve it with fish or veggie tempura.
– Make an easy sushi salad by stirring mirin through cooked sushi rice. Serve on a platter and scatter thinly sliced tuna, salmon and avo over the top. Enjoy with a bowl of wasabi mayo on the side.
