One of Cape Town’s first craft brewers, Jack Black’s Brewing Co. is a household name for beer drinkers around SA, known for its pilsner, pale ale, amber ale, IPA, weiss and flagship lager. Friends of the brand will be happy to hear that the Diep River brewery is now open to the public, kicking off its food offering with Food Truck Fridays.

For the monthly event, the Jack Rabbit food-truck team will pair gourmet street food with craft brews, accompanied by beats from the resident DJ. Look forward to the likes of bacon-and-cheese burgers, pulled-pork sandwiches, Southern deboned chicken thighs, pan-seared mushrooms with halloumi on fresh buns, and hand-cut truffle-and-parmesan fries.

Aside from this event, the brewery will have charcuterie boards, cheese boards, bockwurst rolls and hand-cut fries available in the tasting room from 10am to 10m Wednesday to Friday, and from 10am to 5pm on Saturday. Brunch specials will also be on offer on Saturdays.

The first Food Truck Friday took place on 15 July 2016, with the date for the August edition yet to be confirmed. The event will run from 4pm until 9pm in the Jack Black’s Brewing Co. tasting room in Diep River, Cape Town, and will host up to 300 people on a first-come first-serve basis. Please note that Jack Rabbit will only accept cash and SnapScan as payment.
