Luke Dale-Roberts takes over River Café

As if Luke Dale-Roberts didnt have enough on his plate, the award-winning chef of Constantia Uitsigs La Colombe has now taken over its sibling restaurant, River Café.

Dale-Roberts’s protégé, Scot Kirton, has been appointed head chef of the restaurant. He plans to stay true to the restaurants laid-back ethos, offering diners an authentic, affordable bistro experience with a menu that includes fresh seasonal ingredients and Constantia Valley wines. Apart from smoking his own fish, meats and cheeses, hell be collaborating with horticulturalist Boyd Hutchins to develop an organic garden.

“Our aim is to provide authentic, tasty offerings at any time of the day, says Kirton. Whether it’s simply a good, strong espresso on the run or a luscious salad made with produce picked that morning for lunch, our goal is to be the place where you know you’ll always find something absolutely delicious made with excellent ingredients.
