After the fire: Legendary vegan cook opens restaurant on Atlantic Seaboard

Last year a wildfire swept across the Gordons Bay mountains, destroying vegetation, homes and businesses. The Shearer family lost their home plus Mary-Ann’s Emporium and Eatery, a vegan restaurant and shop. After re-opening in Gordons Bay a few months later, they’ve now opened a second branch in Mouille Point, precisely a year after the huge loss.

The new Mary-Ann’s Emporium and Eatery in Mouille Point will continue to serve the same delicious and healthy vegan food and products available at the Gordons Bay outpost, including the famous buffet lunch. The buffet could feature yummy dishes like rice noodles and Thai vegetable stir fry; gluten-free and zucchini lasagna; cottage pies; and the popular gluten- and sugar-free top deck frozen vegan cheesecake made with cashews and carob.

Mary-Ann’s Emporium in Mouille Point is open Mondays to Fridays from 10am to 6pm, as well as Saturdays and Sundays from 9am to 5pm.
