The Kove Collection, the group behind the likes of Pepénero, The Bungalow, Paranga and Zenzero (to name a few), has added yet another eatery and bar to its portfolio. Dalliance opened its doors just over a week ago on the V&A Waterfront’s golden mile, aiming to offer guests a unique drinks and tapas pairing concept.

The new urban-style space (situated where tapas restaurant Solero once was) boasts beautiful views of the stadium and sea. The sharing and pairing experience includes smaller portions of food matched with a choice of one of four craft beers, or a glass or carafe of specialty wine or champagne.

A menu of tapas dishes is divided into four sections: seafood, meat, vegetarian and desserts. Guests can expect fresh seafood offerings such as salmon tataki, oysters and peri-peri sardines, while heartier meat options include locally sourced beef sliders, lamb chops and sticky chicken wings. Sweet endings include iced nougat with mango sorbet, crème caramel and chocolate beignets.

As for drinks, the vibrant cocktail list offers the Lava Lamp, made with fresh apple and strawberries, orange juice, honey and balsamic vinegar, and the Yogi with fresh papaya, banana, yoghurt and coconut milk. The comprehensive wine offering has options by the bottle, carafe, or 100ml tasters especially designed for pairing. Grape enthusiasts can also look forward to sitting at the copper bar and sipping on tasters of local labels such as Rupert and Rothschild Baroness Nadine, Rijk’s Private Cellar, and Creation pinot noir.

You can find Dalliance near the San Marco entrance and close to Adidas, Pringle and Out of Africa at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town.
