Great news, Capetonians: Thanks to the team behind Posticino, those of you who frequent the Sea Point promenade for dog walks, sunset runs and lazy weekend strolls can now grab a fix of thin-crust wood-fired pizzas and pastas from the comfort of the sunny pavilion situated next to the Sea Point pools.
The team behind the popular Italian eatery have now brought their brand to the seaside with this green-, white- and red-hued street food hatch at the hub of the busy promenade, which fired up its oven on Monday, 30 April.
While you won’t be able to settle down to a three-course meal, you can grab yourself one of Posticino’s famed wood-fired pizzas cooked in the portable Forno a Legno oven; golden and cheesy panzerotto pizza pockets; baked pastas like lasagne and cannelloni; and warming Italian-style soups.
The Posticino Street Food hatch is open for daytime dining seven days a week and the pavilion has ample seating for those wishing to watch the waves as they feast. Stay tuned to their street food Facebook page for the hatch’s menus, specials and updates.
