Pubs in the Winelands where you can watch the big game

Want moreish eats to go along with the big game? These are the spots in the Winelands airing sporting events that also serve good food.

Bossa Goodtimes Bar (Paarl)

Bossa sports a few TVs on which you can watch the big game and enjoy one of the lunchtime promotions featuring burgers, pizzas and ribs. Also get a 330ml Budweiser for R20.

With the full list of cocktails, shooters and beers available, you’re sure to have a great time watching the game on the Bossa TVs in Stellies. Also fill up on one of the lunchtime promotions featuring burgers, pizzas and ribs.

Franschhoek Station Pub & Grill (Franschhoek)

Chow down on a burger or pizza as you revel in your wins, or drown your sorrows with one of the draughts available at Franschhoek Station Pub & Grill. There are several TVs available for your viewing pleasure.

Elephant & Barrel (Franschhoek)

Elephant & Barrel has two TVs inside, plus, for big sporting events, there’s a projector screen available outside. Sip on a cocktail or one of 30 beers, nine of which are on tap. They have a Happy Hour Mondays to Thursdays from 5pm to 6pm, and on Fridays from 5pm to 7pm, which includes free bar snacks.

Flame & Ash (Stellenbosch)

Enjoy the game on Flame & Ash’s big screen, along with a delicious pizza, burger or rack of ribs. They have a happy-hour special and several weekday specials, too.

Hudsons The Burger Joint (Stellenbosch)

Chow down on your favourite gourmet burger while watching the game. Plus, throughout the FIFA World Cup, Hudsons will also be running a R20 Budweiser special. Pair that with burgers topped with biltong chilli cream cheese, bacon jam, deboned rib, or beer-battered jalapeños.

Old Bridge Tavern (Somerset West)

Old Bridge is passionate about the soccer World Cup. Watch all the games on the big screens with a pizza, a plate of jalapeño poppers and one of 17 draughts.

Springbok Blues Sports Pub and Grill (Somerset West)

Enjoy the two big screens at Springbok Blues while taking advantage of the many available specials. A warm winter meal (like green bean stew, curry and Irish stew) is on offer Mondays to Thursdays for R59 as well as a host of lunch specials. Drinks specials include Jose Cuervo shots for R22 each and Springbokkies for R18 each. View their website for a full list of specials.

Thirsty Scarecrow (Stellenbosch)

At Thirsty Scarecrow they’re serious about their sport. There are five TVs available for your viewing pleasure, and they even have a special that supporters of Portugal will love. You’ll receive one free Superbock when you arrive dressed in your Portugal supporting gear. When Portugal scores, you’ll receive one free Superbock. If Portugal wins the match, you’ll receive one free Superbock. You get the idea.

Tuk Tuk Microbrewery (Franschhoek)

Cheer on your team with a CBC brew in one hand and tacos or nachos in the other. The menu also features quesadillas, burritos, fish and chips and a few other great dishes. Until August 2018 you can enjoy one of the winter warmer specials, and they’ll also be doing Soccer World Cup drinks specials.
