Restaurants that offer wifi during load shedding in Cape Town and surrounds

Have an urgent meeting you can’t delay? Desperately need to submit an assignment and the power is out? Don’t worry! Instead, head to one of these restaurants and coffee shops where you can still access wifi during load shedding.

The Great White House Restaurant (Gansbaai)

Where better to be stranded during load shedding than Gansbaai? Catch a whiff of sea air, tuck into some hearty fare, and take advantage of the generator! Breakfasts range from the full English to healthy options or go for a light lunch or seafood platter. Coffee and confectionery are also on offer, so grab your fix while you work.

Folk Café (St James)

This beautiful spot boasts excellent coffee and a range of light meals. Whether it’s caffeine or a glass of chenin blanc you’re looking for, take in the St James seaside vibe and plug in. And don’t forget to grab some baked goodies to take home when your work is done.

The Dog’s Bollocks at YARD (Gardens)

This industrial-style local is well known to residents in the surrounding areas. The burgers are legendary, and you can choose between pizza Neapolitan-style or with a thick crust, New York-style. For something lighter, opt for Asian or BBQ wings, washed down with a cold beer.

Four & Twenty Café (Wynberg)

This quaint eatery offers a range of meals and treats. Choose from breakfast, lunch or a scone or muffin – it’s all delicious. You simply can’t go wrong with the eggs Benedict, a sandwich or a salad while seated in the beautiful courtyard. And be sure to grab a snack or two to take home with you too.

Dukes Coffee & Roastery (Parklands)

This little coffee shop in Parklands Lifestyle Centre serves freshly brewed coffee, best enjoyed alongside a slice of cake. Try the coffee tasting if speciality beans are your vibe. If not, a fruit smoothie is always a good choice.
