Food

Expect your taste buds to be tantalised with dishes that are full of flavour and look like art on the plate. Choose the decadent foie gras, duck leg and fig starter if you’re feeling fancy, or go for the octopus carpaccio for a lighter option. For mains, the Ethos lobster moussaka is a highlight with perfectly seasoned moussaka infused with lobster extraction and herb fired lobster tail on top. The pork neck is also a firm favourite with a beautiful apple jus that serves as the perfect sauce with seasonal garnishes. To end off the night with some fun, choose the coconut dessert, which comes with a wooden hammer to break open the coconut-shaped meringue filled with caramel creme, dark chocolate and other delicious accompaniments. Or go for the classic baklava, a real Greek treat! The portion sizes are generous for a fine-dining restaurant, and as the food is so rich, you are definitely getting your money’s worth. There are no vegetarian or vegan options for mains, so if you aren’t a meat eater you will have to order a few tapas dishes to enjoy.

Drinks

The restaurant has an extensive wine list with so many varietals and choices they have created a small book with all the wine on offer. There is wine from all over the world and you can select your wine by region or country. There are no wine pairings available and not many wines by the glass. Although the wine list is impressive, the mark-up is quite sizeable so it contributes to a large portion of the bill.

Service

The service is exceptional and you feel taken care of as soon as you walk through the door.  The waiters are attentive and make sure to top up your drinks when needed. The food arrives timorously and you are never made to feel like you have been forgotten. The restaurant has sufficient Covid protocols in place with all staff wearing masks and the tables being situated 1.5m apart. There is also hand sanitiser at the entrance and in the bathrooms.

Ambience

The interior of the restaurant is perfectly suited to the cuisine, with a life-sized olive tree situated in the middle of the dining area. The atmosphere is very romantic with the crowd consisting mostly of older patrons and a few young professionals. The seating is very comfortable, but the temperature is a bit on the warm side and it can become stuffy, especially after a drink or two!
