Valentine’s Day at Asara

Lovebirds can flip a coin when they head to Asara Wine Estate near Stellenbosch. There are two romantic dining experiences – the classical elegance of Raphael’s Restaurant and the more upbeat and trendy Bisto&Tapas at Asara

At both restaurants you have the option of dining alfresco so that you can enjoy the view over the dam and its inhabitants. The birdlife won’t be the only thing to look at though; there will also be live entertainment.

Couples will receive a welcoming glass of sparkling wine, a rose, and home-made petits fours and chocolates.

Bistro&Tapas@ASARA offers a five-course menu including fresh oysters with a mango chilli salsa and oysters in a light cream and garlic sauce, Norwegian salmon, a beef fillet stuffed with mushrooms, spinach and feta with accompaniments. Dessert is a cardamom-infused milk tart with mango and passion fruit compote and honey-yoghurt ice cream, followed by coffee and petits fours.

This menu costs R425 per person.

Raphael’s Restaurant offers a five-course menu that includes an amuse bouche, ying yang of kingklip and tuna, champagne and rosewater sorbet, and veal and lamb with aubergine mash and nut potatoes. And, if you can squeeze it in, raspberry yoghurt panna cotta and lavender ice cream, coffee, chocolates and petits fours rounds it all off.

This option will set you back R525 per person.

To book, call Shana-Lee on 021 888 8050, or e-mail dining@asara.co.za.
