We went to Franschoek to celebrate Women's Day. Unfortunately we had the most atrocious meal at Allora. I ordered the stuffed calamari on my waiter's recommendation which was very tough and disappointing, as was the fact that the anti-pasti salad that I ordered  - the cheese and sauce was out of stock. Then I ordered the rocket and parmesan salad that turned up full of tomato and coriander. My last try was the carpaccio as a last resort, which was cold and tasteless, served on slices of apple. What a utterly disappointing feeling after setting out with such high hopes of a glorious Women's Day experience. I didn't even order the special of the day but today the saying 'if it sounds too good to be true, it is too good to be true' was definitely the case.

This is such a brilliant family restaurant, service for kids is brilliant! The staff are great with kids and are at your table when you need them. Fantastic food too! Loved our evening.
