Owner's description

Al's Place offers expertly prepared food, great value and friendly, quality service in a relaxed and casual environment with occasional live music. On the menu, Chef Alan Tavares prepares steaks, pizza, seafood, pasta and more. Everything is freshly prepared on the premises from quality, fresh ingredients. Signature dishes include the brown mushroom baked with roasted vegetables, parmesan and basil pesto; half a free-range, deboned duck slow-roasted with a Van der Hum orange sauce and the delicious crème brûlee with a fruit base.

What makes Al's a very personal experience is Al is at his restaurant meeting and greeting. Amazing pizza and the decor gives you that Italiano feeling. Cosy setting, great atmosphere and amazing pizza and pasta. Great Friday night family outing.
Stumbled across this little gem by chance. Great food portions and prices are pretty decent too. Very homely feel!
A little hidden gem. Do not be detered by the situation, the unassuming exterior conseals an honest, friendly, affordable eatery that is clearly very popular with local foodies and families alike, serving what could arguably be one of the best sirloin steaks and pasta in the southern suburbs. Can't wait to go back to try the ribs and pitza.

Enjoyed the food, the atmosphere, but just not enough waiters or waitresses to ensure an overall good service experience. Service too slow, too infrequent! Pity that this has to detract from an otherwise good experience. Get another waiter or waitress, maybe two and the experience will be so much better.
