Local Italian Restaurant in Umhlanga Rocks, we have been in business for over 20 years. Come and see the plates on our walls, signed by many famous people
Wow your 3 Course lunch Special guys is to die for. I had an amazing food at a cheaper price. The cocktails were soo beautifully made & tasted absolutely good. Will definitely come back
Had a decent 3 course dinner, with a glass of wine, for R165. Food good, but let let down by rather bad, at best obsequious when waiter was changed, service! Sadly we sat in the “centre” so no real ambience, except Norman Goodfellows bottlestore windows.
The dish I wanted on the menu was unavailable.
The first waiter we had absconded .the second waitress explained the order was not processed. One dish that eventually arrived was the wrong kind of pasta.I ordered well done chops and rare arrived. The accompanying salad was soggy.
A terrible experience.
We had booked at Angelos last Saturday night for a birthday dinner. Our first waitron was abrupt to the point of rudeness. Our starter was acceptable without having a wow factor. My husband ordered prawns and calamari with rice. I ordered grilled calamari with vegetables. The calamari had been so over spiced that my husband was unable to eat that part of his meal. All he could taste was salt. Mine was in the same condition but I was able to dilute the saltiness with the roasted vegetables which were very good. Our second waitron enquired at the end of the meal how we had enjoyed it. My husband said that he had been unable to eat the calamari as it was so salty. She went off to the kitchen and the answer was that 'that was the way the chef did the meal'. And that was that. Absolutely no interest shown in the fact that the meals were in effect inedible. Most disappointing. And this was after we asked that the chef sample the calamari! We won't be going back there.
We went to Angelos Umhlanga on Friday night for a dinner with my 2 closest friends after getting some heart breaking news about one of them. Time to meet and devise a gameplan for the months ahead.
As usual the restaurant was already buzzing at 18h30, we were greeted by a lovely hostess and introduced to our waiter Jamie... We skipped the starter and went straight onto mains, I had Chicken Alla Panna, chicken breasts in a prawn and garlic sauce with taglietelle.. this never disappoints, the chicken is like butter, nice fresh plump prawns and pasta cooked to perfection,
My friend had Gnocchi Vesuvio which is my second favourite dish on the menu....and the other had a delicious sirloin steak which literally melted in the mouth. Some good red wine which is all reasonably priced, a few liquers, some decent coffees and the result was a night to remember. The service is slick without feeling rushed and the food is amazing.
After frequenting this place for over 15 years I cannot find fault... Consistency is the key to resounding success.
