Absolutely love this place. The vibe, the performers, everything is just so exciting and different. The staff are friendly and service is fast. Had a brilliant evening

What a disappointment!!! So embarrassed after taking friend from Durban to experience a unique and flamboyant dining experience, which turned out to be the exact opposite.
Ordered: Beachboy burger-BEEF (salsa, guacamole, slice of cheese and sour cream)
Was served: Plain burger with salsa (NO guacamole. slice cheese, sour cream)
After food was served, waiter didn't return to check if all OK. We waited 15 minutes, then I went to fetch waiter.
His excuse: He heard "Beefcakes", not "Beach boy", BUT:
"Beefcakes" burger doesn't come with salsa......
Waiter (without an apology), took plate (and cutlery) away, and did not ask about drinks, although my glass was empty for 10minutes, and friend's almost empty.
Waiter returns with freshly prepared Beach boy burger (no cutlery, as he remove the used ones with plate), walks away again not offering any drinks. Had to walk after him and ask.
First bite of burger, LAMB, and not BEEF!!!
Went looking for waiter again, explained that order was Beachboy burger, option: BEEF, not lamb.
Waiter's response: "That is definitely BEEF, I was standing by, while chef was preparing it"
We showed him the difference between the two burgers (as I still had piece of mine left, which was BEEF)
He said he'll call the manager...the manager arrived, asked what the problem was, apologised and took the plate away.
After this, the waiter ignored our table completely.....
The manager returned with (finally) the correct dish...
By that time, I was done with my meal, and my friend only started his...
We received no further service.....

Eventually, the waiter returned to clear plates, and I had to ask for bill.

A great place to hang out and enjoy the show (Mary Scary was amazing), but whatever you do, do not order a burger. Our whole table of 10 were very disappointed by both taste and quality and this was further evidenced in the terrible feeling in my stomach that unfortunately endured for the remainder of the evening. Considering the price of close to R100 (a world-class burger at Reuben's/Hudson's/Royale is R75) and that the show was charged separately, this is in my mind inexcusable on the part of Beefcakes.

This fun, no-fuss burger joint is a great place for a social evening out with friends. The loud (in more ways that one) waiters ply patrons with their camp wit, and the menus will bring a smile to many faces with its naughty play on words. If youre attending one of the drag shows or the Bitchy Bingo evening each Tuesday, youre in for some interactive fun. Its all in good spirit though. The food is hearty, and the burgers are great value for money. The thick, rich milkshakes make for great desserts. Id definitely recommend this place for a fun night out.
