Owner's description

Set in-and-amongst the plum orchards, overlooking the vineyards and the majestic Stellenbosch Mountains, Café Blanc de Noir truly is a unique experience. The rustic chic décor and the friendly staff create an atmosphere for happy and relaxed dining. The menu focuses on fresh, simple and quality ingredients. Rustic wood-oven pizzas, “family secret” cakes, award-winning Brenaissance wines and craft beer are what they specialize in. Pop down after work, for a family outing, a birthday celebration or a cappuccino break while on a cycle through the Valley.

I love the Devon Valley and we visited on a particularly hot day. We did get a bit confused between the accommodation side and the restaurant and I think my only real feedback about the venue was that this could be better sign posted. The restaurant is located with a small stream that runs in front of it, very pretty. There is lawn for kids to play on in front and a small jungle gym area. The restaurant became very busy so I would also recommend that visitors book before hand. My kids had the children's pizza and really enjoyed them. My husband and I had the pizza and wine pairing which was delicious. We received a sheet with the wine names on in front of the pizza it was matched to and it was very tasty.
Somebody has gone to a lot of trouble to create a great setting, but spoilt by poorly motivated staff. we went there during the week, so it was very quiet, but I don't feel that that excuses one staff member eating his lunch from a plastic container at an adjacent table, and another eating a garlic pizza while doing paperwork at another table. Having gone there to do some wine tasting, when the person who eventually deigned to serve us brought our Chardonnay, and told us that it was 11% wooded, we knew that we couldn't expect anything knowledgeable about the wines from her. With the strong garlic smell there wasn't much hope in being able to appreciate the wine anyway. Fortunately there are so many much better restaurants and wine tasting venues nearby that you can easily give this one a miss.
Fantastic!!!! SO great that I brought my directors for lunch to have this wonderful experience!! Well done Tobie & staff

Very disappointing, average food, average service, and high prices. They won't see me again!

So disappointed! The setting is beautiful, pizza, wine and dessert were ok. However the guy working at the door has no manners - we were 20 minutes late for our booking and on arrival asked us "Do you have a watch? You are late so your table is not available anymore." As much as he thought it was funny, we did not find it a joke at all!
