Owner's description

They are situated in the Drakensberg between a few big holiday resorts on a airfield. Next door is a craft brewery where they serve their burger menu as well. The restaurant is in an old hanger with a view of Cathkin and Champagne peaks.

The chef and owner has won Kokkedoor in 2014. They do functions at night and create menus specifically for the needs of a group. Groups even in daytime book platters in advance where they allow the chef to create any food.

They have a different approach to foraging, they colour and dye cloth from the onion skins , avocado pips , pomegranate , coffee and tea. They are also big on re-using their wastage. The egg trays are used to make paper mâche articles for lights and decor in the restaurant. They are in the process of setting up a coffee roastery next door and would like to create coffee infused dishes.

    Food was delicious and home made. The Oom owner was very pleasant but afraid Elsa, who won kokkedoor years ago really needs to work on her attitude and personality if she wants to survive with the public. She can just start by saying “hello” to the people that chose to eat in her restaurant.,But, even though the portions are so small, it was tasty
