Homey atmosphere as well as a cosy and warm venue. Friendly staff and generally very quick and professional service. The restaurant has a very decent wine list, with a wine for every meal on the menu. The food was excellent, I highly recommend the Pork Belly with the cauliflower mash. The pork was tender, with the best, crispy crackling I've had in a while. The Port and Gorgonzola rump was cooked to perfection. The flatbreads are thin and not to doughy at all, with the spicy Morrocan lamb being the highlight of the dish. I also heard the Chicken curry has a lot of depth. I had an Irish coffee afterwards, which was good, but could've been prepared a bit better. Overall it was a wonderful experience and I'll gladly visit again.
What a wonderful experience. The food was incredible. The building and the interoir is exquisite, very modern and creative. Nice and cosy spot for winter and lovely to be outside in the summer. Also, the pork belly was by far the best I’ve ever had. Can also strongly recommend their flatbreads.
We braved the tourists on Chapman’s Peak Drive as we were excited to try a new option in Nordhoek. Big mistake. Our table was downstairs , which is fine if you have children , as you will soon lose them in the packs of feral kids roaming the place . After 10 minutes of waiting we went to find a waiter to see if anyone would bring us some menus. The waiter finally arrived , clearly way too cool to actually be a waiter, and doing us a massive favour. Drinks and starters ordered . Drinks arrived quickly. Then one of our party went to the toilet and discovered a kid free lounge upstairs ! Perfect. We asked the manager if we could move and it was no problem at all , he would sort everything out. All good we thought. The waitress upstairs ignored us for 20 minutes , then wandered over and actually said she did not understand how we had been so patient ! She said she would bring us some cutlery , which we thought was a good sign , but sadly not . Eventually the waitress noticed our glasses were empty and asked if we wanted another round . By this time we were so desperate booze was the only calories we were going to get. Another 20 minutes later ( and 1 hour after table was actually booked ) and still no sign of any food, we decided to cut our losses and head to Cafe Roux instead for a late bite. The manager did not seem remotely surprised ( perhaps this happens a lot ) and to his credit gave us the drinks for free - no hint of an apology though.
