Amazing Location at the Gateway Mall Umhlanga Food Court Outside, Amazing Food As Always. Friendly Staff, I really enjoy John Dory's Ribs & Chips. They fall off the Bone, Succulent & Juicy. Value for money. A good restaurant Indeed. Highly Recommended
We have been going to John Dory's Gateway since their Sushi Bar opened, the services has gone from bad to non-existent. You had the best sushi in town when David, Lucazade, Lisa & Robin were working there. We stopped going after they left as the service walked out of the door with them. We decided to give them a few try's again, what a big mistake. Last week we took 12 friends for dinner there, what an embarrassing experience. Those who ordered normal meals received their food 1hr after ordering, but only after I went to look for the waitress, food was cold on arrival. Those who ordered Sushi received their orders 2 1/2 hours later, but only after my daughter and myself went down and forced them to make our order. We were forced to serve ourselves. We where only offered drinks once, I had to go and find our waitress to come and offer us more drinks etc, etc, etc. They have definitely lost us as valued customers plus the 12 friends.
I love john dorys its our favorite family restuarant, but of lately the food has been from hell I don't knw what the matter is but as I write my entire family is suffering from food posioning.Management are well trained and attend to our every needs but the chefs are useless and put out bland and untasty food,'we actually found poop sacks 'still in our prawns.I intend taking this matter further and the owners of John Dorys steady your ship because u soon gona sink.
My wife loves John Dory's but my last two experience at the gateway franchise were very forgetful. The food was shocking. On both occassions it felt like the food was taken off the fridge, made warm in the microwave and served to us. The food was cold and felt like yesterdays food. I will never eat there again. The R350 bill for the two of us was a bitter pill to swallow for something that was not worth it. I should have refused to pay - if I had known better!
