I loved this place, I had such an amazing experience. I had the Warthog samosas for my starter and kudu for my main, both were divine! As I was dining alone, I was happy to see they had a few options of wine by the glass. At the time I dined here, they had the Weltevrede Vanilla Chardonnay available by the glass, so I chose this to go with my food. I can highly recommend dining here. It is worth coming to Swellendam just to eat at this restaurant!

Excellent European food. To call it German food is really an understatement. Chef Steven is Irish and his wife Marianne Dutch. Together they prepare the fine dishes. They used to run restaurant De Molen on the Ashton road before moving into an historical building in Swellendam. It has been upgraded recently. For many years Stephany is the waitress, now assisted by Jacky, both lovely Xhosa girls.
