The Greek passion for life, beauty and of course food, ensures a joyous eating experience at Mythos. The menu is a superb exploration of authentic Greek cuisine. You can enjoy a variety of meze or traditional cooked meals such as kleftiko and moussaka, as well as meat, fish and seafood dishes. You can also enjoy some lovely light lunch options in pitas, and a delectable range of salads. Vegetarians are well catered for and, as a tantalising end to a fine meal, the desserts are breathtaking. Home-made baklava, halva, and Greek yoghurt served with nuts and honey, are but some of the delights on offer.

    I write this review with a measure of reluctance although I feel compelled to do so: reluctance because I have had many memorable meals at Mythos over the years, but I cannot ignore the objectionable service I received on 1 September 2015. I ordered one of my favourite dishes on the menu, Garida (prawn) Linguine (priced at R115) which supposedly includes 6 prawns, five in the dish itself and one as garnish on top of the dish. When the waiter served the dish, I could not find reasonable evidence of six prawns in the dish: the queen-sized prawn used as garnish was fine, and according to expected standards, but in the dish itself I found either five totally overcooked diminutive prawns (shrimp-sized) or five totally overcooked fragments of prawns which collectively would not amount to more than two and a half queen-sized prawns. When I challenged the waiter about the lack of prawns in the dish, he reported the matter to the floor manager, who ignored me and could not be bothered by the issue. He merely continued to chat with waitresses who were not serving tables at the time. As such, the dish basically amounted to linguine with a béchamel sauce and a few lost and totally overcooked fragments of prawn. A bit steep at R115, I would think.
    WENT ON SATURDAY. THIRD TIME IN A ROW THAT FOOD WAS COLD. THE SECOND TIME I MENTIONED IT TO THE MANAGER, WHO WAS DEFENSIVE. ALTHOUGH THE FOOD WAS TASTY, WILL NOT BE GOING THERE AGAIN
    Waiter was given 120 zar tip for a 1770 zar bill. He dared walk to the table and in front of my guests asked me for more. He got more for sure.
    He can only do this if the management encourages him to do so.
    This happened on Saturday 25th October. We had made a reservation for 8 persons for 20:15.
    Will never again take my guests there. Pappas will be the Greek restaurant for me.
    We love Aubergines and when we saw the Egg plant with mince and bechamel sauce, we ordered it with great expectation. However, when it came, we were utterly disappointed - it was very much under-cooked and we struggled to cut through the tough skin. The sauce, however, was good. The creamed spinach was also nice but sloppily presented with strands drooping over the side of the plate. We cook Aubergines at least once a week at home, we can, therefore, speak with some authority. The music was also too loud, making it difficult to converse. We expected more from a Greek Restaurant.
    I emailed brooklyn mythos asking if the could do something special for my boyfriends birthday. The manager/owned specially organised a set menu for us. I have never tasted flavours like I did that night. It was the best experience of my life. The waiter was so professional and made us feel like royalty. I will tell everyone about this and they will see me again!
