Always an amazing experience from the moment you step into the lift. Great hospitality with friendly staff, always on hand for menu reccomendations. Expect a leisurely dining experience, giving you time to take in the view, along with exceptional food.
I went there this weekend with my partner, booked a week in advance so to get a proper table, firstly finding parking was an issue. When we finally got in they had actually swoped our table with another white couple who was clearly not happy with the table. The table was as small as a chair and shoved in a corner, with waitresses shoving us around while they were serving other people. When we asked them about this, this fair black lady(hostess) advised us she would sort it out. She thereafter just disappeared and avoided us for a good hour. We took it up with the manager who made us wait at the waiting area for a good 30 mins. What was most upsetting is that we were treated like this by black people, so i wont lie and say it was some form of racism cause it was not. Most Black people absolutely have no respect and recognition of other black people. We talk of white privilege, most of the time we do this to ourselves. But thanks to Butcher Block for saving our night, they always come through with the best service and best food.
Truly a phenomenal experience! Cannot fault any aspect of dining here; from the truly impeccable food, to the outstanding service and the fantastic views. My only drawback (and I'm really reaching here) would be the slightly limited selection of wines available. Otherwise this is one of Durban's real gems!
The Only Rotating Restaurant In Durban. The experience was amazing, The Food was really 5 star. The service was really good. Thanks to Tony for making sure we had everything we wanted. Great Ambience. Would definitely recommend the Restaurant
I have probably gone to Roma too many times and the food has never disappointed me once! I love the Italian hospitality of Gino and Tony as they welcome you. The view and the entire experience of being in a revolving restaurant is surreal and utterly romantic. I love Italian classics like Porchini mushrooms as a starter & Fillet Ol Man as a main course. The only gripe is that food takes a bit of time to come to you but use that time to take in the view and enjoy the charm of this gem of Durban.
