San Restaurant is a sexy new café-style bistro situated in the Sourthern Sandton Sun, one of Johannesburgs most iconic hotels. Drawing on global trends, the restaurant commits itself to providing guests with genuine and authentic cuisine in a relaxed and inviting setting. The menu changes daily and offers local flare through South African ingredients. Try their ostrich burgers followed by a naartjie malva pudding.

    We tried ou the San restaurant on Friday evening for dinner. Although the ambience of the restaurant and the service were great, we were extremely underwhelmed by the quality of the food and teh size of the portions. The dishes were extremely overpriced and not of the quality which you would expect for such prices. We may return for drinks on the deck, but we certainly will not be eating at the restaurant again.
    Lovely ambience, although the famed sunset view now obscured by ugly buildings. Real disappointment was the food (service top class): very pricey (suppose the locale explains this reality), but would be okay if quality was top class ........ which it is NOT! Our host remember the pork belly from last year, but not available (if its on the menu, make sure you have it!). Potato curry really poor for R95, and chicken dish very ordinary. Let feeling cheated!

    Location great. Drinks menu selection great although you will wait 45 minutes before you receive your warm bubbly. Ambience - great. Food - loved the special bread/salad and cheese extravaganza put together by the chef, Garth Schnier! The most memorable things about this venue are him and his food.
