Food
The NYC-style breakfasts include chilli eggs and hashbrowns, eggs Benedict and maple-bacon blapjacks. The signature menu also includes tacos – either fish or mince – with salsa, while the Upper East salmon bagel is substantial – a genuine bagel with thick hunks of lightly cured salmon trout accompanied by cream cheese, cucumber, red onion as well as sides of crisp coleslaw and kettle-fried chips. Ribs, burgers and American-derived salads all come in generous portions.

If the signature menu doesn’t have what you want, make your way through the extensive classic menu common to all Tashas. Try a slice of luscious coconut and custard cake.

Drinks
An upmarket and interesting selection of wines, many of them served by the glass, as well as a good line-up of sparkling wine and cocktails. Non-alcoholic or healthy options range from fresh juices to frullatos, cordials and freezos.

Service
Friendly and efficient.

Ambience
A large, bright and bustling space with wood tables, marble counters, imaginative light fittings, a dazzling display of cakes, and large windows for people-watching.

Best for…
Relaxed business meetings, pre-movie meals or as a break from heavy-duty shopping. Get there early in summer and bag a table or couch under the umbrellas in the sunny pedestrian precinct.

Yes we also now have Tasha's in Cape Town, but yet again on a visit to Johannesburg, I was reminded (and I had limited time), just how superb all the management and staff at Tashas's Rosebank are - efficient, friendly and 'on the ball'. A great attitude, full as always, but nothing is too much trouble with a cosmopolitan clientele, and great vibe. One might think how wrong or right can you get a simple chicken mayo sandwich, well this was near perfect, and the Jozi buzz in Rosebank is refreshing, and this is my first choice of venue! Ours here are fine, there its exceptional.
Worst service ever! Stay away The lady that served me was absolutely rude and dismissive. Did not care care to even look at me while I was talking to her. No apology for messing up my order and walked away while I was talking to her. After waiting forever for my food - it was too salty!
Go if you want diarrhoea on toast and vomiting with coffee. Worst food poisoning and gastro ever
Worst breakfast ever. I am from the States and tried the new menu. Try overdone eggs, cold ham and cold toast, everyone's food comes at different times. We got salmonella poisoning and spent the rest of the day in the toilet. Don't go to Tashas Rosebank. Unless you want food poisoning.
