There’s a certain cool factor associated with the Tashas brand, and the Rosebank branch is no different. All Tashas branches share a similar layout, décor and a classic menu but what differentiates each one is its signature menu. Fittingly, the Rosebank signature menu is inspired by New York – the Johannesburg suburb has an allure that can be likened to New York’s, albeit on a much less grand scale.
On the classic menu, breakfast is served all day and it doesn’t disappoint. The breakfast options alone are so plentiful that you might feel undecided or overwhelmed – but in a good way. Decisions, decisions!
The classic menu’s mini version of the classic breakfast is a good place to start. You can have one or two eggs, prepared according to your preference. It comes with an Italian sausage, mushrooms, a grilled slice of tomato and your choice of bread. Tashas is also known for its delicious salmon scramble dish, which features salmon trout, scrambled eggs, cherry tomatoes, cottage cheese and chives.
The beef burger option has two mini burger patties served with red onion, tomato, gem lettuce, sesame seed buns and potato chips. You pay extra for the cheese option.
The classic menu caters for all sorts, so you won’t struggle to find something filling if you’re banting, are vegan or vegetarian. If you want to indulge in a guilty pleasure, you’ll find something. If you’re on a health kick, you’re also taken care of.
The signature menu has breakfast and lunch items, with fewer options. Tashas’ ode to the Big Apple features breakfast items such as eggs Benedict, chilli eggs and hash browns, and maple-bacon flapjacks. The lunch picks include an Upper East salmon bagel and a Wall Street egg bagel.
For something sweet, Tashas has cakes of the day on display. Your waiter will take you through what’s on offer. Chocolate, carrot, and coconut and custard cakes are available on any given day, sold in huge slices that can satisfy two adults.
The drinks menu features green juices, health shots, healthy smoothies, teas and coffees, cocktails, spirits and wines.
Tashas knows its customers and have a way of ensuring they come back. Staff pay attention, making sure customers are well attended to.
Everyone wants to be here – friends, families, professionals, personalities and business types. With modern, inviting décor, it’s a popular spot for work lunches.
