This is a lovely coffee shop in a small mall in the town Vredendal. The ambience is exceptional - a hint of France in the South of Namaqualand. I am a coffee lover and rate Thi Art's cappucino as one of the best. The red cappucino is also recommended. Try any of the wonderful cakes. I experienced friendly and efficient service.
Terrible management / ownership - our vehicle was spat on and urinated on due to a complaint iro extremely annoying loud music played outside to a non existing audience! The manager / owner - still waiting on proper clarification on that, simply treated us with the utmost disrespect and blatant disregard. Numerous polite requests where made by us to simply turn the music volume down to a lower level (not to shut it off). We politely asked for a lower music level as one of the guests at our table is recovering from chemo and due to his illness he has suffered partial hearing loss, therefor most of the conversation at the table had to be repeated loudly as to not exclude him. On departure we pointed out that a little respectful consideration for the specific guest in our party would have been amazing. We were told that respect is to be earned (?). The manager / owner told us he was just joking - no one laughed. I felt really sorry for the service staff as they had tried their best to accommodate us and requested on our behalf to have the "DJ" turn down his music to a level where we could have a proper conversation without having to raise our voices while conversing at our table. We were guests of a prominent business family and where conducting business over a meal. I felt really sorry for our hosts as it was a huge embarrassment for them. The following evening we opted to travel further afield for a meal as the choices of restaurants in Vredendal are quite limited. Due to the treatment from the manager / owner, even the tasty food and friendly service staff, will definitely NEVER get me back into the restaurant ever again as long as the same manager / owner is at the helm. I am sorry the paying clientele who visit the establishment and the service staff who work really hard to please the patrons, have to endure this manager / owner. Good luck
