Owner's description

The Village Grill & Butcher is located conveniently at the entrance to Franschhoek Village, with ample secure parking on site.

The Village Grill and Butcher caters for customers of all ages and they have beautiful gardens for guests to relax in and wander around.  There is a play area for children outside (incorporated into the gardens), with a jungle gym, fountain (for those blisteringly hot Winelands days) and a growing maze.
With a menu that is suited to all seasons and eating preferences the Village Grill & Butcher will not disappoint.  Highly recommended though are the 250-gram fillet steaks, served with a choice of sweet potato, hand cut wedges, French fries or a side salad.  Add one their famous sauces  and you are sure to not be disappointed.

Last stop on your way out should be the butchery, where you can hand pick a matured to perfection steak (or other meats) to take home.  Whilst there you can also pick up the perfect spice blend as the Village Grill & Butcher stocks a full range of cooking spices from NOMU.

Having read the reviews we needed to check it out ourselves and we weren't dissapointed. Cosy atmosphere and beautiful gardens. I had the pork belly with spring onion mash and apple sauce which was delicate yet flavorful. Hubby had the fillet with pinotage and peppercorn sauce. To say their speciality is steak would be an understatement. It simply melted in the mouth. Prices are reasonable and quality of the food simply fabulous. We would recommend this restaurant and definitely be back for more.
