We arrived and the first thing we were asked was whether we had booked a table. She then offered us a table outside in the cold where no other patrons were sitting, as she was saying some patrons were settling their bill. We declined the 1st offer and asked if we could wait upfront because there was a table open, it turned out to be a smoking are and we opted to wait in the the 2nd waiting outside area but we couldn’t even get ourselves to sit because it was so cold..she asked we give her 5min and we waited 10min without anyone checking on us. I was very annoyed and told my family we should leave. We ended up a Mythos at Irene Village which was a very pleasant and welcoming experience with amazing. More than anything I’m grossly disappointed by the staff member that answered the phone and gave me misleading information because I realised today that their google search actually encourages you to ‘reserve a table’. We feel very marginalised by this establishment and have lost all interest in experiencing them. I was so disappointed last night when we decided to go out for dinner with the kids last night.
I called the restaurant on Thursday to book a table, spoke to an unknown gentleman specifically asking him whether we needed to book at table or do they allow walk ins and he was very outright about the fact that we did not need to because it is a Friday and it’s not that busy. I pointed out the fact that it was a month end Friday and he insisted that I should not worry because we would get a table.

I love this venue, the vibe is amazing! Its always buzzing with young and older crowds. Their pizzas are also super yummy ! You can rent a Hooka (hubbly) as well if you’re keen to have a little flavour with your pizza and wine. Great venue, day or night.

The quintessential neighbourhood eatery. This laid-back, ecletic space buzzes every day of the week. Families dine in the back room with a fireplace and outdoor play area whilst the young and after-work crowd gather on tbe benches and velvet sofas at the entrance for craft beers and the pizza wine special. Food is hearty and the small menu is updated seasonally. Woodfired pizzas keep the regulars happy, butter chicken curry or lamb pie are both perfect for a cold winters evening. The service can sometimes be a bit slow in peak times, but they serve Pauls homemade ice cream and claim to have one of the widest spirit selections in Pretoria. Regular live music at Irene's hippest bar.
