The harbour, the people, the atmosphere. What more can I say about Zack's. It's one of the best restaurants I've ever been to. I will rate it top notch in my book. The atmosphere and tranquility of the bay, coupled with good food and a variety of alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages makes it one of the best restaurants in the kzn region. My experience there for the first time was spectacular to say the least and anyone who says different needs to stay where they are. Zack's for me and my family is number 1 hands down!!!! And I would go back any day of the week regardless of the occasion. Keep up the good work and the good food. Zack's you are number 1!!!!!

I enjoyed the bay and the sounds of the bay but the food at Zacks leaves much to be desired. I was forced to tap 1 star as a "required field " but really wouldn't have even given a one star. I don't go out very often as i live in the Midlands it's quite a drive. And to have been invited to Zacks certainly floated my boat. I ordered fish n chips beer batter fried - I got 3 small sawdust planks. Tasteless and dried out. The chips in a small pile equally unplatable. I thought a touch of spicy sauce may help - no. Salt - no. The excuse of flavourless tartar sauce was disgusting. I ate it and didn't complain as I was my brothers guest. My mother had Chicken salad - gamely aye wirh long teeth. Flavourless and where was the chicken??? My brother shared a pizza that was feta olives and some other ingredients - no cheese??? And at least a ton of supermarket garlic. They left it half eaten. Then we ordered 2 fried icecream fir the table - something in the dessert was rancid. Our bill - with the 3 kids food and drinks was R1234.00 - but it didn't end there. I got gippo guts. Vomiting and all the rest - no details here. I WILL NEVER GO TO ZACKS AGAIN AND I WILL DISUADE ANYONE THAT SUGGESTS IT. IT WAS TERRIBLE. The service was great.

8 of us went to Zaks for lunch yesterday. I personally will never go near the place again. I ordered a steak - they do not do vegetables so I chose rice instead of chips. When the food came it was a sinewy piece of steak BUT the worst was that the rice was just that - a spoonful of plain boiled white rice - !!! Not even a slice of onion or tomato on the plate. It was a total rip off and absolutely awful. When I asked what the waitress what this was supposed to be I was told "aunt Caroline". COLD DRY RICE!!!! - disgusted Also disgusted that they had Sangria on their drinks menu but had no idea what I was asking for. Those in our party who had calamari complained that it was tough. It was only the canned cold drinks and bottled wine that were acceptable - but then again they were not made by Zaks. I was accompanied by family members from Scotland - WHAT A STORY THEY CAN TAKE BACK WITH THEM ABOUT ZAKS AT WILSONS WHARF.
