Food:

Charcuterie is chef Neil Jewell's passion, so a platter is a fantastic way to sample his saucisson and other cured meats. But he's no one-trick pony and there are always delicious, seasonally-inspired dishes on the menu – like a fragrant cassoulet with firm haricot beans, pork and slivers of sausage, or a creamy Jerusalem artichoke soup livened by a zesty lemon gremolata. Wife Tina Jewell's breads are the perfect accompaniment.

Wine:

Solely Môreson, since the cellar is less than a stone's throw away. Ample choice and selection by the glass.

Service:

Unfailingly friendly without being overly familiar. Superbly well trained and knowledgeable.

Ambience:

Recently revamped, the interior is French country kitchen style with rustic wood units, silver teapots and milk jugs slung from the chandeliers, and wire art on the back wall. The outdoor patio area is still fantastic for the obligatory long, lazy lunches on sunny days.

And...:

Don't miss the opportunity to browse the deli counter to take home some of Neil's charcuterie and other homemade produce. (FM, October 2011)
