Balata Restaurant at Fairway Hotel (Randpark)

The Bull Run Restaurant (Sandown)

Lover’s platters are in store for you at The Bull Run this Valentine’s Day. On arrival you’ll receive cocktail oysters and sparkling wine with crème de cassis followed by a starter platter, a mains platter and a cheese platter. The mains platter features Brazilian rump steak with café de Paris butter, Cajun grilled queen prawns with lemon butter cream, and fried haloumi with chips and vegetables. End off with chocolate-dipped strawberries. This experience costs R370 per person sharing.

Café Hemingways (Kyalami)

Enjoy a six-course menu with your beloved at Café Hemingways, plus a welcome glass of Prosecco. The menu features dishes like a twice-baked brie cheese soufflé; bacon and asparagus pot stickers; crispy sea bass; and short-rib ravioli. Decadent desserts include a strawberries-and-cream inspired panna cotta dessert; and a chocolate fondant. Lacuna Bistro (Sandton)

Head to the luxurious Maslow Hotel for a sumptuous evening of bubbly on 14 February. The Moët & Chandon themed evening will R440 per person with dishes like Knysna oysters, pan-fried prawns, lambe Valentine, and a dessert plate with homemade crème anglaise with 70% dark chocolate ganache and malva squares. There will also be a Veuve Cliquot-inspired picnic on 18 February for R750 per couple.

Starters are served for the table to share before you can choose between mains like an aged beef fillet, North African chicken, seared calamari or a lentil curry roti. Finish off with a dessert buffet.
