Pascali’s Trattoria

On the recommendation of one of Eat Outs newsletters, I decided to give Pascali's a try. What an absolute disaster. Ordered a starter for the table. Rocket and Parma salad and the Foccacia with fresh tomato and pesto. 10 minutes later we were informed that they had no rocket or pesto. So we went for the standard greek salad.. For R61.00 I expect green lettuces and not the whites of the iceberg salad. For mains my one guests wanted to try the pork cutlets, surprise, no stock, spinach, no stock, gnocchi, no stock.... by this stage I asked for the bill. If you know that you have run out of items on the menu, inform your clients before they spend time deciding on what to eat. Also it took them another 10 minutes to tell us that they had no stock of the items. I was totally embarrassed since I had some guests from the Hotel industry with me. Thank goodness for Clifford. What a super waiter... as for management. They had a young gentleman, that informed us that it was his first day. You could see that he really was not ready to handle a situation as ours...thank goodness for a restaurant close by, that saved the evening...
