Had lunch with a friend at Avontuur Estate Restaurant last Saturday and couldn't recommend it more highly. The welcome and service were great, and a special thanks to Zunia for the complimentary glass of wine - an unexpected bonus (it helps to know the chef!). The starters and mains were amazing - great flavours, interesting combinations and hearty portions - and the desserts were divine; we shared a dark chocolate ganache slice with brandied maraschino cherries and hand-crafted vanilla bean ice cream and deep fried ice cream with butterscotch sauce. All in all, a great dining experience in a stunning setting.
