In Centurion, treat your mom to some music in the garden with singer and songwriter Amanda Strydom. Your meal starts with a mezze platter, before a chicken Napolitana pasta, and a variation of doughnut holes, lemon bars and blueberry duos as dessert. The three-course lunch costs R280 for adults and R140 for children, with overnight packages available.

Casablanca Manor
book lunch with mom and enjoy a three-course buffet. There will be some live entertainment, and the chance to win a stay in one of the charming manor’s new rooms. Adults pay R289, with children under 5 eating for free, and those aged 6 to 10 pay R100.

Rosemary Hill
This popular spot is offering a picnic which you can collect and eat anywhere on the farm you choose. You can pick from a normal, plant-based, or gluten-free menu, with offerings such as salads, preserves, bread, and brownies. This costs R250 for adults and R95 for kids and there is a children’s menu available. The venue asks you to bring blankets and cushions. Moms will also be getting a special gift.

If your loved ones are fans of good seafood, Cafe 41 off Rigel Avenue has a prawn special running throughout the day on Sunday. You will get a dozen prawns, seafood rice, a side salad, and a glass of wine for R320.

Picnic in a box
If you prefer to spend Mother’s Day in nature or at home, you don’t have to miss out on culinary treats, with a special Mother’s Day grazing picnic box, which you have to pre-order and can collect in Moreletapark. For R450 it includes a mini bottle of rooibos and lavender gin, goodies like cheeses, crackers, fruit, and meat.

Magalies Mountain Lodge
If you’re looking for an activity to go with your lunch, why not treat your mom to a day in the mountains? This Mother’s Day special includes a decoupage workshop, where you can have fun with arts and crafts before lunch, followed by a back and neck massage. The cost of R850 per person also gives you access to the lodge’s mountain trail.

Rachella’s Café & Venue
Rachalla’s, based in the Plantland plant nursery off Atterbury Road, has a few offerings for Mother’s Day. There is a breakfast buffet in the morning and a cake and coffee special in the afternoon. In between, the plated lunch includes butternut soup, braised oxtail, and malva pudding. The offer comes with a printed photograph taken of your mom. Bookings are advised.
