5 pet-friendly spots in Joburg

Throughout the many corners of Jozi, you will find great little spots to take your dog along to and enjoy yourself.

Breezeblock (Brixton)

The courtyard of this Brixton favourite with its pretty aesthetic is open to dogs. Your puppy can get some fresh water while you enjoy a good coffee, breakfast or beer. This spot is also popular with people looking for a spot to work, and regularly features live music for Friday sundowners.

Voodoo Lily Café (Birdhaven)

This popular café in Birdhaven has long been pet-friendly, and has recently pivoted to also include The Gourmet Grocer. Your puppy is welcome throughout the spot and there are both water bowls and dog treats available. The menu shines most with its breakfasts, such as the Johannesburg Benedict, which includes fillet steak and caramelised onion.

GG’s Cafe (Kyalami)

This lovely outside spot in Kyalami not only strongly welcomes dogs on leashes but has a whole menu for them. Choose a portion of bacon, sausages or biscuits with a bowl of water for your fur friend while the humans enjoy sweet or savoury Belgian waffles.

Under the Trees Garden Café (Lyndhurst)

This pizza bar and café is part of a family-run nursery and landscaping business in Lyndhurst that’ll feel like a lush escape in the middle of the city. Choose from an array of breakfasts or baked potatoes, and bring your dog along.

Delta Café (Randburg)

What better time for a coffee or meal than after a nice long walk with the dogs in Delta Park between Craighall Park and Linden. Dogs on leashes are welcome and dog bowls are available. The menu has a little something for everyone, from breakfasts and salads to pizzas.
