Find your rural roots right here in the city with AgterPlaas’ Boerekos Buffet. Adults eat for R250 per person and children for R160 per person. If your grandad is a pensioner, expect a special pensioners’ price of only R200. There will also be live music on Father’s Day.

Rockefeller Restaurant at Manhattan Hotel (Pretoria Central)

This Father’s Day, Gold Leaf Café is offering a special three-course lunchbox for two, with bubbly, for R480. The lunchbox can be delivered free of charge within 8km of Old Farm Road or you could arrange to pick it up yourself. For starters, choose between the soup or chicken salad, mains are lemon-and-herb chicken or oxtail (both served with creamy mash, roasted veg and a sweet potato bake), and end with pear crumble with custard or a tropical cheesecake.
