This Eat Out 3-star restaurant has just made The World’s 100 Best

South Africa’s food scene continues to shine on the international stage. FYN, an Eat Out 3-star restaurant led by chef Peter Tempelhoff, has secured a coveted spot on The World’s 50 Best Restaurants List for an impressive fourth year running.

This year, FYN comes in at a remarkable number 60 on the coveted extended list (restaurants ranked 51-100). This upward climb from their 2023 ranking of number 75 further solidifies FYN’s position as a global culinary destination.

“We’re all absolutely thrilled to have made the list for the fourth time and grateful to 50 Best for once again recognising all we do,” says Peter.

He dedicates this achievement to his entire team, including co-owners Jennifer Hugé (Front of House and Beverage Director) and Ashley Moss (Culinary Director), along with the kitchen and front-of-house staff. He also acknowledges the vital role played by their network of suppliers, farmers, foragers, and fermenters who provide the exceptional ingredients that elevate FYN’s offering.

“I’m so proud of the team and what we’ve accomplished collectively,” Peter reflects. “From our phenomenal suppliers and craftspersons to our network of small-scale South African farmers, foragers, and fermenters, for without all of them FYN wouldn’t be what it is! The same is true for every single member of the restaurant team, from our scullers to our group CEO, and everyone else involved. This recognition is for all of us; it is for the team as much as it is for me.”
