Where to enjoy bottomless mimosas in SA

We love a good bottomless anything special, but mimosas have to be near the top of the list! So we’ve rounded up restaurants offering bottomless mimosas to make the most of these last sunny mornings.

Jarryds (Sea Point, Cape Town)

This all-day “brunchery” not only serves exceptional food, but also offers bottomless mimosas to ensure brunch is truly a leisurely affair. Tuck into healthy options such a hot oats or a smoothie bowl, or something light such as a bagel or banana bread. For a heartier option, you can’t go wrong with their Turkish eggs, served with labneh, dukkah, pesto, pita bread and chilli butter fried eggs. The huevos rancheros also comes highly recommended. And then, of course, make it festive with bottomless mimosas at an additional R350.

Arbour Café and Courtyard (Birdhaven, Joburg)

When thinking about to where to get bottomless mimosas in Joburg, Arbour Café’s popular weekend bottomless mimosa brunches are top of mind. Owners of the charming French-inspired eatery Larry Hodes and Josh Simon introduced the concept around November 2021 and Joburgers are loving it. From May onwards the mimosas will hero the Kasteelberg MCC Brut. Complementing the bottomless mimosa is the brunch menu boasting delicious dishes such as brioche French toast served with crispy bacon, grilled banana and maple syrup; Roya Benedict (smoked Norwegian salmon, poached eggs and hollandaise on fresh brioche); and a galette made with wild mushrooms, spinach, béchamel, cider confit onion and parsley. Indulge in bottomless mimosas at Arbour Café & Courtyard at R325 for one-and-a-half hours and at R525 for three hours. This happens every Saturday and Sunday.

The Oyster Box (Umhlanga, Durban)

Bottomless mimosas are the perfect accompaniment to a boozy brunch and where better to enjoy them than The Oyster Box Hotel! They offer a bottomless mimosa along with their breakfast buffet, which costs R495 per person. Be sure to book in advance as this is a very popular destination for brunch lovers, especially over the weekends. It’s the perfect place to dress up a little and sip on mimosas while digging into some delicious food.

Even After All (44 Stanley, Joburg)

Even After All is a trendy new spot that opened at 44 Stanley in September 2021 adding to the eclectic vibe of the charismatic food and retail precinct. With its 1970s retro-themed and nostalgic ambiance, it serves quirky brunch, light meals and dinners, and is also a great cocktail and music venue. The transitioning menus offer classic favourites like pork ribs, burgers, chicken wings, mac & cheese, tacos and hotdogs with an American leaning. The bottomless mimosa special happens every Thursday to Sunday from 12pm until 3pm at R350 per person. Enjoy the Even After All mimosas with either prosecco or Simonsig sparkling wine.

Danté (Umhlanga, Durban)

Danté is by far one of Durban’s new hot spots and is known to be a firm favourite for Umhlanga locals. With gorgeous, Instagrammable interiors and stunning views of the Indian Ocean, it’s a great spot to enjoy brunch over the weekend. On offer along with their brunch menu are bottomless mimosas so why not extend brunch and turn it into a festive afternoon with friends!

Chalk Craft Eatery (Parkhurst, Joburg)

Chalk Craft Eatery is about hand-crafted meals and cocktails made passionately with a fusion of influences from the Mediterranean to Asian. The menu offers breakfast and brunch, tapas and small plates, and artisanal pastas and signature mains. Chalk Craft Eatery has its Bottomless Bubbles (mimosas included!) special running every Sunday from 12pm until 4pm at R250 per head.  The spot changes its sparkling wine brands every second week to keep things interesting and supporting local brands is a priority.

Market Café (Morningside, Durban)

This cosy restaurant has its own picturesque courtyard that offers the perfect setting for sipping on bottomless mimosas under the Durban sun. They are hosting their first event featuring Darling Cellars on Sunday, which costs R200 per person for bottomless mimosas from 10am to 1pm.  They are looking to make it a regular offering so keep an eye out on their Instagram page for updates.

Special mentions

While you may not be able to get bottomless mimosas at these places, you can opt for bottomless bubbly, which is just as good! (Maybe just request extra orange juice?)

The Pot Luck Club (Woodstock, Cape Town)

Their brunch is nothing short of exceptional and very different to what one might traditionally expect. Think oysters, tacos and peri-peri chicken, while rosti and mini Arnold Bennets make it feel more “brunchy”. Brunch is served every Sunday and costs R650 per person. Add bottomless mimosas and bloody Marys for R330 per person.

Belmond Mount Nelson Hotel (Gardens, Cape Town)

Every Sunday, from 11:30am to 3pm, the Mount Nelson offers a jazz-filled brunch for R450 per adult and R350 per child. You’ll be serenaded by the tunes of the Buddy Wells Trio while tucking into a range of sweet and savoury  delights. Best of all? The Children’s Centre is open so you can relax with a delicious spread and bottomless bubbles (at an additional R195 per person) knowing that your kid is being safely looked after by a professional childminder.
