New rooftop bar opens on Bree Street

Sundowners with a 270-degree view of Cape Town? Yes, please. Bree Street’s latest addition is 14 Stories Rooftop Bar, named for its location on the fourteenth storey of the new Sun Square hotel. (But yes, spelt the other way.) Their offering continues the theme with 14 red and white wines, and 14 signature cocktails. Also available is a selection of champagnes to sip as you stare out at Table Mountain, Signal Hill, and Lion’s Head.

This is certainly the spot for sundowners. On the menu white wines are helpfully divided into ‘bright, crisp and refreshing’, ‘seductive, vibrant and silky’ and ‘juicy aromatic’; while the reds are split into ‘delicate, vibrant and silky’, ‘intense, powerful, and polished’ and rosé. Available bubblies include Moët & Chandon, Veuve Clicquot, Krone and Graham Beck. There are also warm beverages, as well as beer, ciders, soft drinks and milkshakes.

Go for one of the fourteen red and white wines, or champagnes. Photo supplied.

The team is still busy designing a tapas-style menu for eats but, in the meantime, if after-work drinks lead to dinner, you can head down to Vigour & Verve for local favourites or to any of the restaurants on Cape Town’s irreplaceable Bree Street.

14 Stories is open daily from 4pm to 11pm.
