Partner content: Buy tickets now for the Wine on the River weekend

Brought to you by The Robertson Wine Valley

It’s time to gear up for the Robertson Wine Valley’s annual Wine on the River weekend. Head out to the banks of the Breede River on 20 to 22 October to enjoy a weekend filled with live music, treats and wine offerings. Now in its twelfth year, the open-air spring festival is a family event with wine at cellar door prices for the parents and various engaging activities for the little ones.

Activities to look forward to include interactive wine tastings with local winemakers, focusing on specific cultivars. Also exciting is the third annual Duck Derby, where businesses and individuals can buy a plastic duck and watch it float to the finish line. The winners will receive R5000 in cash. There will also be lucky draws throughout the weekend. All proceeds from these will go towards the Bonnie-People Project in Bonnievale, which assists with development in the community and education for its children.

Another charitable venture can be supported via the Thunderchild wine stall. Robertson Wine Valley will be selling wine to raise funds for this local children’s home. Your own children will also have plenty to keep them busy, including a dedicated area for them, boat cruises, and horse- and tractor rides.
