In the hustle and bustle of the capital, it can be tough to find a spot to relax with your pets, but here’s a roundup of coffee shops and restaurants that make room for your furry friends. 

Goddess Cafe (Waterkloof and Southdowns)

If you want to bring the pooch along for breakfast with the girls or just want to spoil yourself, Goddess Cafe in Waterkloof and Southdowns is a vision of pink-coloured cuteness. Pets are not only welcome, but have a menu of their own, including meals like venison, quinoa and gravy or chicken livers, rice, and peas. 

Khaleo (Hazelwood)

In the stylish The Club centre in Hazelwood, you can people watch while grabbing a great breakfast or smoothie, such as an Indonesian avo shake. Pets are welcome in the outside seating area, and there is a bowl of water available if they need it.

Rosemary Hill

This popular hiking and mountain biking spot in Pretoria East is not only a working farm but pet-friendly too. The Rosemary Hill restaurant and the Greenhouse Cafe both allow dogs on leashes. Your doggos are brought water if they are thirsty.

Pltfrm Wolwespruit (Erasmuskloof)

If you and your puppy like being active, this popular mountain biking spot close to the highway is perfect. Choose a dog-friendly walking trail before grabbing something delicious like melkkos or pancakes. Pets are welcome inside and outside the restaurant, which also offers a doggy menu. The proceeds go to an animal charity.

Afro-boer (Die Wilgers)

This popular spot is a mainstay on any Pretoria list featuring good outside areas. You can have your pet with you at the tables outside the quaint cafe if weather is permitting, or in the garden under the trees. While you enjoy lunch or slice of cake, your fluffy friend can get a doggy treat, which are sold by the deli. Dog bowls for water are provided. 

Huckleberry’s (Brooklyn)

What better place to take your dog than “The Cafe in the Park” at Magnolia Dell. Enjoy daily specials, pub-style lunches, or pizza after a walk in the park. This spot is pet-friendly with dogs preferred outside. Waiters are happy to bring your fur friend a bowl of water and serve something off the general menu in a bowl.
