Seafood for a song

There’s no doubt about it. To truly enjoy your prawns, you have to tackle them with your fingers; let the garlic butter run down your wrists and suck those shells for every last shred of sweet meat. But prawns can be pricy. We’ve rounded up a list of restaurants that serve prawns and line fish that won’t break the bank, but will still satisfy your craving for fresh, summertime seafood.

Nobody (but Neptune) can control which fish bites the hook on any given day, so stock is subject to availability. Remember to check that the catch of the day is on the SASSI green list before ordering. Unfortunately all prawns – whether farmed or fresh-caught – are currently rated orange, because they are very difficult to categorise as a group. (Find out more here.)

Now get those fingerbowls ready!
