The Terrace at Fairlawns revamps for winter

The Terrace at 5-star Fairlawns Boutique Hotel has recently been refurbished. It’s now all-weather safe and decked out in plush white leather seating and adjustable glass panelling to keep the 'cold or rain' out but the beautiful garden views 'in'.

To go with the new swish interior the latest seasonal menus, designed by Executive Chef Michael Colling and his creative team, are just as luxurious and suggest fabulous wine pairing, too.

Try the classic the Fairlawns Burger, comprising home-made pure beef patty, topped with tomato chutney, bacon, portabella mushrooms, cheddar cheese and a fried egg, paired with Groote Post Darling Merlot; or the Mediterranean Crepe Lasagne, layered with marinated vegetables, drizzled with summer salad, paired with Haute Cabriere Franschhoek, Pinot Noir. Alternatively, be more decadent with Namibian oysters served with gazpacho and condiments, paired with Spice Route Swartland Chenin Blanc; and Caramelised Onion and Blue Cheese Tart, served with mixed salad or potato wedges, paired with Cockburns Tawny Port Portugal port. Dessert at Fairlawns is always popular; try the Duo of Mousses, including white and dark chocolate, topped with berry compote; and the Pear Millefeuille, served with crème Anglaise.
