The three restaurants setting the standards for sustainability in SA

This year, three restaurants were crowned for their sustainability efforts at the Eat Out Woolworths Restaurant Awards with the Eat Out Woolworths Urban Green Star, Rural Green Star and Emerging Green Star Awards announced on the night.

Urban Green Star Award 
Winner: Dusk

This award celebrates a restaurant located in a city or dense commercial hub, where customer traffic, infrastructure and operational complexity are high, with no access to land to utilise waste, rear animals or grow food.

Rural Green Star Award
Winner: The LivingRoom at Summerhill Guest Estate

This award goes to a restaurant in a more remote area or one with land to rear animals or grow food. It is a community-based location where customer traffic and infrastructure access are more limited.

Emerging Green Star Award
Winner: Terrarium

This award is given to a rising star regardless of location. This category celebrates a restaurant that demonstrates exceptional momentum in its sustainability journey. It recognises an ambitious newcomer making bold strides by actively embedding applaudable sustainability principles into the restaurant from day one.
