Umhlanga gets a waffle and ice cream parlour

Known for artisanal breads, scrumptious breakfasts and good coffee, Vovo Telo recently made an exciting change to its Umhlanga Rocks branch.

Sunny Umhlanga is now lucky enough have its very own waffle and ice cream parlour. On 18 September, the Vovo Telo team opened the doors to the brand-new section where the menu is dedicated to over-the-top sweetness and decadence in the shape of golden, buttery waffles, ice cream scoops, gourmet shakes and even caramel-dunked Oreo doughnuts.

The brown butter waffles include a range of toppings such as Madagascan vanilla ice cream, lemon curd and a caramelised Italian meringue, or the Canadian with crispy bacon and pure maple syrup. (We’ll take two, thanks.)

For those who are craving a savoury bite, there is the bunny love waffle, which is topped with mild chicken curry, plain yoghurt and coriander leaves.

The ice cream offerings include the classic favourites of chocolate and strawberry as well as exciting flavours such as the rocky road, chilli and dark chocolate, and honey and nougat. All ice creams are made with free-range milk and are served in cones, cups or one-litre tubs to take home.

For your next over-indulgent treat, head to Vovo Telo Umhlanga Rocks.
