La Fiamma Ristorante Pizzeria (Faerie Glen)

Share a romantic arrival drink and enjoy the cullinary delights of this traditional cucina. Marius Marais will be providing live entertainment of the light and romantic kind. The staff at La Fiamma are looking forward to making your Valentine’s dinner extra special on the 14th of February. The evening of food and live music will set you back R390 per person.

Ndaheni Restaurant at the State Theatre (Pretoria Central)

Enjoy an urban, Sunday chill session on 13 February 2022 to set the mood for Valentine’s Day. Doors open at 1pm and entrance is free. Listen to the music of Mahlatse Vokal, Magatsela and several other bands. There are free gin shots at the entrance and the first 10 couples will receive complimentary cocktails. Order from the à la carte menu and enjoy the artists and entertainers in the line-up.

Galentine’s Day at Diep in die Berg Restaurant

Sometimes you just need to celebrate female friendships, old and new by turning Valentine’s Day expectations on their head. This year, on Sunday the 13th from 2 till 4pm, a series of events will celebrate Gal Power by creating fun and female positive spaces across the country that celebrates the month of love. Spend R150 and get a welcome drink, a R100 shopping voucher, two raffle tickets, a VIP invite to the next ladies’ night event, plus two ebooks. Prosopa Restaurant (Waterkloof Heights)

Start this culinary journey with a flute of perfectly chilled,  L’Omarins Brut MCC bubbly. Gazpacho, breads, dips, skordalia and deep-fried aubergine strips set the mood. Select a starter from thin slices of delicate carpaccio, Thai-style mussels or a vegetarian halloumi cheese offering. Cleanse your palate with a raspberry sorbet so that you can enjoy your choice of main course. Your choice is between fresh kingklip, succulent lamb kleftico, premium beef fillet or luxurious duck breast. Dessert is served on a platter to share and includes tiramisu, almond and coconut phyllo rolls, and Italian kisses (of both the chocolate and the caramel kind). The dinner costs R575 per person (gratuity included) and you can choose to either dine on Sunday 13 February or Monday 14 February. Be sure to book your place for this romantic evening.

Queen’s Cottage (Cullinan)

The artist, author and chef Lientjie Wessels will host an ode to Love on 13 February in celebration of Valentine’s Day. You can make bookings directly with Lientjie on 082 531 6141. The meal costs R400 per person and you can bring your own cooler of drinks. Her menu is delectable and unique and explores familiar ingredients in new ways with flavours and textures to delight and invigorate the senses. The journey starts with a chilled carrot and saffron soup with coconut and corriander ice cream. This is followed by the main platters, laden with a selection of duck and halloumi cigars, lemon tahini meatballs, anchovy gruyère and parsley beef kofte. The platter also includes courgette and cumin falafel, marinated artichokes, chilli chicken pilaf, white bean and caramelised fennel salad, zhoug, chopped Israeli salad, cumin and garlic cream, lemon and tahini sauce. Dessert consists of lemon meringue and dark chocolate truffle. All ingredients are seasonal, fresh and locally sourced.
